Analysis of Age Diversity in management and leadership
Ashok Leyland Company (ALL) faced challenges in managing age diversity within the workforce. The generational difference and expertise between Generation Y, the millennials, the baby boomers, and the senior employees. The company embraced young innovations through initiatives like "Mission YEs" to explore the young energy and new creativity; however, this shift caused dissatisfaction among older employees who felt out of place. Then, the company decided to find ways to balance and value both generations for the progress and sustainability of the company. ALL decided to implement more inclusive strategies that create harmony and collaboration between generations to make both generations satisfied. Ashok introduced mentorship programs, involving senior employees coaching the young ones by designing career development opportunities for the young employees. ALL saved the situation. This strategy showed how both generation needs each other for productive work in the company instead of showing superiority and power. The company created a peaceful and innovative environment for both generations despite the generational gap.
