INTEGRATED ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF HYDROCARBON EXTRACTION
The issue of environmental protection in extractive regions, in particular during hydrocarbon extraction, is an integral part of all oil and gas extraction projects. In Europe, at the pan-European level, there are several Directives that regulate the process of hydrocarbon extraction, including gas from unconventional reservoirs. An integrated impact assessment should be based on standards that contribute to effective environmental protection activities of extractive enterprises and continuous monitoring during the development of deposits. When studying the current state of the environment within the deposit, it is necessary to take into account: determining the current state of the natural environment, public health and its social conditions before the start of any activity; determining the initial level for monitoring current changes; identifying the impact of technogenic load from the activities of other industrial enterprises; establishing areas where monitoring work should be carried out. The proposed criteria for conducting an integrated assessment of the impact of hydrocarbon field development on the environment allow assessing both the overall impact on the environment and its individual components.
