Proliferation of Drone Technology: Implications for Asymmetric Warfare in the Context of Bangladesh
Drones are transforming modern warfare by providing smaller militaries with the capability to gain asymmetric advantages through precision, speed, and reduced risk. This article examines the spread of drone technology and its strategic implications for Bangladesh, drawing lessons from the experiences of Ukraine, Myanmar, and regional developments in India. It argues that incorporating drones and counter-drone systems into military doctrines, training, and planning is crucial for maintaining national security, improving operational effectiveness, and enabling cost-effective defense strategies. Rapid innovation, domestic development, and strategic adaptation are essential for Bangladesh to navigate an increasingly complex security landscape.
