Influence of Green Human Resource Management Practice on Employees' Pro-Environmental Behavior in 3-5-Star Hotel in Malaysia
Abstract: Nowadays, the increasing of global environmental concerns has delighted organizations to integrate pro-environmental practices into their operations, thereby enhancing both ecological sustainability and competitive advantage. Within the Malaysian context, the hotel industry has been identified as a sector with substantial environmental effects due to its intensive consumption of water, energy, and other resources, attached with excessive waste generation. Therefore, this paper formulates a framework postulating the influence of Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices on employees’ pro-environmental behavior (PEB) in 3–5-star hotels in Malaysia. The findings of this paper should enrich the existing theoretical and conceptual foundations of GHRM practices by clarifying its role in fostering environmental concern among employees, thereby offering practical and scholarly insights into the advancement of sustainability practices within the hospitality sector in Malaysia.
