Preventing and ameliorating burnout in therapeutic schools
In the aftermath of the COVID‐19 pandemic, staff morale has become a major concern in clinical settings at all levels of care, as well as in school settings. Staff morale is a major workplace factor in maintaining quality clinical care, adequate staffing levels, and a healthy work environment. Low staff morale is often associated with individual and organizational factors such as low staffing levels, low employee self‐efficacy, and a high workload (Gilbody et al. 2006). Low staff morale is a multifaceted phenomenon that may be best operationalized at the individual level through the concept of burnout.
