Applying Lexicographic Ordering Algorithms to Optimize Crew Task Management and Navigation in Space Missions
This paper introduces the Lexicographic Ordering Decision Framework (LODF) — a novel Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) model for optimizing crew task management and navigation in deep-space missions. The framework integrates mathematical order theory with AI-based scheduling to enhance energy utilization, task prioritization, and reliability under limited communication. Experimental validation demonstrates a 25.2% reduction in response time, an 18.2% gain in energy efficiency, and a 38% decrease in false alarms compared to conventional models (SPS, WSM). This work contributes to the foundation of human–AI collaboration for autonomous mission planning in aerospace systems.
