π(x) as a Structure Normalizer in Gravity: Modular and Spectral Couplings in a Scalar–Tensor Framework
This work introduces a new scalar–tensor extension of general relativity in which the mathematical constant π is promoted to a structure-dependent field, π(x). The field encodes modular, spectral, or Calabi–Yau (CY) information, linking gravitational coupling to deep geometric and arithmetic structures. The resulting theory takes the form of an Einstein–Hilbert action with a dynamic curvature normalization F(ϕ)RF(\phi)RF(ϕ)R, where F(ϕ)∝π(ϕ)−1F(\phi) \propto \pi(\phi)^{-1}F(ϕ)∝π(ϕ)−1. This formulation connects general relativity to modular invariants, zeta and heat-kernel functions, and CY periods, providing a unifying geometric framework that embeds number-theoretic structure directly into spacetime dynamics. The paper derives explicit Yukawa corrections to Newtonian gravity for modular and spectral configurations, the modified Friedmann equations for u(ϕ)=ϕ/Mu(\phi) = \phi/Mu(ϕ)=ϕ/M, and an effective equation-of-state parameter leading to mild phantom-like cosmic acceleration. The approach also predicts small but testable deviations in gravitational strength, cosmological evolution, and black-hole entropy. Overall, this work suggests that the familiar curvature factor 8πG/c48\pi G/c^{4}8πG/c4 in Einstein’s field equations may itself encode hidden modular or spectral structure, bridging modern mathematical physics with gravitational theory.
