ANÁLISE DA EFICÁCIA DE COLÍRIOS ANTI-INFLAMATÓRIOS PÓS-CIRURGIA DE CATARATA: REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA DE ENSAIOS CLÍNICOS
This systematic review analyzed randomized clinical trials assessing the efficacy of topical anti-inflammatory eye drops following cataract surgery. Corticosteroids, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and combined or novel formulations were evaluated regarding their ability to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and prevent postoperative complications such as cystoid macular edema. Corticosteroids demonstrated superior control of acute intraocular inflammation but carried risks, particularly intraocular pressure elevation. NSAIDs provided effective analgesia and a safer intraocular pressure profile, though with reduced efficacy in severe inflammatory cases. Combination therapies and sustained-release drug delivery systems showed promising outcomes, enhancing both adherence and anti-inflammatory effect. Findings highlight the need for standardized protocols and larger, long-term trials to strengthen evidence for clinical practice.
