A Study on The Application of Fintech Services Among Digital Natives (Special Reference to Chennai City)
Abstract: The concept of "Digital Natives" (DNs), popularized by Prensky (2001) and Tapscott (1998), refers to individuals born between 1980 and 1994 who grew up immersed in digital technologies, shaping their proficiency with information and communication tools. This study examines how DNs use financial technology (Fintech), which is a revolutionary fusion of technology and finance, and how it promotes inclusive finance. The study uses an empirical approach to examine DNs' preferred digital payment platforms, Fintech services, societal impact, and demographic characteristics with a focus on Chennai, India. A structured questionnaire was administered to 120 respondents using convenience sampling, with data analyzed using percentage and ranking methods. The results show important trends in the adoption of Fintech, emphasizing how it affects behavioral changes and financial accessibility. Through bridging the gap between generational digital fluency and changing financial ecosystems, this research offers practical suggestions for service providers and regulators on how to optimize Fintech for fair financial inclusion.
