MAIN METHODS OF TAECHING IN BILLINGUALISM
Bilingual education has received growing attention in recent decades as globalization and multilingual populations increase. This article reviews and analyzes the principal methods employed in teaching bilingual learners, including the immersion method, the transitional bilingual method, the dual language (or two‐way) method, and content‐based instruction. Each method is described in theoretical foundations, implementation strategies, advantages, challenges, and examples. A comparative discussion highlights criteria for selecting appropriate methods in different contexts (e.g. age, community language status, resources). Recommendations are offered for teacher training, curriculum design, and policy to optimize bilingual teaching. Understanding these methods in depth enables educators to make informed decisions conducive to both language proficiency and academic achievement.
