Fast Near-Field Radar Imaging Method Based on OFDM Waveform

Applying Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signals to the near-field radar imaging system, i.e., realizing the communication function and the radar detection imaging function at the same time, provides a set of solutions for the intelligent traffic and safety detection. However, compared to traditional frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW), the OFDM waveform will bring deterioration to radar imaging performance, so this paper proposes an optimization scheme. In addition, this paper proposes to transform the OFDM signal into the wave number domain to image the target using the Range Migration Algorithm (RMA) for near-field imaging. The use of matched filtering in a scenario where radar and communication waves are mixed ensures that the radar function works properly. In three-dimensional imaging, an upper and lower limit expression is given, and the blocking and layering imaging method is proposed, which improves computational efficiency and imaging quality.
