Exploring Creativity and Innovation in Qatari Entrepreneurship: Understanding Challenges, Motivation, and Strategies for Growth

Entrepreneurship is central to advancing Qatar’s ambition for economic diversification, as articulated in the Qatar National Vision 2030. This study examines how creativity and innovation can be fostered within Qatar’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, focusing on financial, cultural, and institutional influences. Using a structured survey of 300 entrepreneurs and applying statistical analysis, the research identifies key patterns around motivation, innovation capacity, and risk perception. Findings show that despite strong institutional support, limited private capital, fear of failure, and complex regulationsconstrain innovation. However, high-growth areas like fintech, health-tech, and the rise of female entrepreneurs present promising opportunities. The study offers rare empirical insights from the Gulf region and makes original contributions to entrepreneurship literature by integrating theories from Schumpeter (1934), Amabile (1996), and Hofstede (2001). Practical recommendations are provided for policymakers, educators, and entrepreneurs to align national innovation strategies with Qatar's Vision 2030.
