Repurposing an Old Ally: Vitamin C as a Next-Generation Adjuvant Against ESKAPE Pathogens
A comprehensive review on the interactions between vitamin C and the ESKAPE pathogens. This work analyzes the current evidence, identifies major knowledge gaps, and proposes a novel three-pillar model to explain the vitamin's complex antibacterial and immunomodulatory effects. It serves as a call to action for further research into vitamin C as a potential adjuvant therapy in the era of antimicrobial resistance.
