Algorithms for managing patients with endocrine ophthalmopathy

Endocrine ophthalmopathy (EO) is a progressive soft tissue disease of the orbit and eye, which is based on immunomediator inflammation of extraocular muscles and orbital tissue. The pathological process in the orbit is a chronic disease with an unfavorable visual and cosmetic prognosis, which develops against the background of impaired thyroid function in primary diffuse toxic goiter or autoimmune thyroiditis.
