Translation thinking in China: from interdisciplinarity to transdisciplinarity
In the early 1980s, Chinese scientist Qian Xuesen initiated the creation of the science of thinking, which marked the beginning of research on translation thinking in China. Over the past forty years, these studies have gone through four key stages, including the period of genesis in the 1980s, the period of development in the 1990s, the period of culmination at the beginning of the 21st century and the period of deepening: from 2010 to the present day. These studies have focused on the translation process and led to important breakthroughs, from focusing on understanding and expression to focusing on the transformation between them, from deductive research on the application of thinking to inductive research on the application of thinking, from one-sided research on the transformation of thinking to dialectical research on the transformation of thinking. In fact, in this process, research on translation thinking in China has completed the transition from interdisciplinarity to transdisciplinarity.
