Use of Thermal Ablation in Low-Resource Settings: Experience From Three Multicenter Noninferiority Randomized Clinical Trials
(Abstracted from JCO Glob Oncol 2025:11:e2500050, doi:10.1200/GO-25-00050) A large proportion of cancer-related deaths in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) can be attributed to cervical cancer (90%), but a distinct characteristic of cervical cancer is the development of precancerous lesions that can take years to progress to malignant disease. An effective treatment for precancerous lesions is ablation, which has the potential to lower mortality related to cervical cancer in LMICs.
