Entre a escrita e a escrituração: a prosa de guarda-livros de Graciliano Ramos

This article seeks to offer a new perspective on the famous reports written by Mayor Graciliano Ramos by examining the legal and administrative instruments that guided the creation of these documents during his tenure as head of the executive branch in the city of Palmeira dos Índios, from January 1928 to April 1930. Among these elements, special attention is given to the previously unpublished handwritten cashbooks of the Palmeira dos Índios city hall, all signed and initialed by the author, as well as to the municipal code of ordinances approved during his administration. At the same time, the article considers his promotion to the position of Director of the Official Press of Alagoas, where, under the Governor’s orders, he strategically oversaw the publication of all municipal reports from across the state in the Official Gazette.
