Leverage and Linkage: A Conceptual Framework for Social Justice and Sustainable Development in Human and Organizational Relationships

This article introduces a conceptual framework that unites the ideas of leverage and linkage as foundational principles for achieving social justice, sustainable development, and global harmony. It explores how relationships at every level, from personal and community interactions to organizational and international partnerships, depend on interdependence and balance. The paper argues that when leverage, which is the use of resources and influence, and linkage, which refers to the connections and cooperation between systems, are exercised ethically and equitably, they promote fairness, peace, and shared prosperity. However, when these dynamics are exploited for unequal gain, they lead to imbalance, conflict, and social instability. Drawing from systems theory and organizational ethics, the study emphasizes that equitable linkages across human and institutional systems are essential for inclusive growth, environmental balance, and sustainable global progress.
