Vacuum Breathing Theory
This work presents the Vacuum Breathing Theory (VBT), a foundational postulate that models spacetime as a single, globally synchronized “lung” oscillating isotropically at the Planck frequency with Planck-scale amplitude. Unlike local fluctuation models, VBT asserts one coherent universal rhythm. By averaging over the rapid breathing, the theory yields an effective Hamiltonian that reproduces hydrogenic bound states without ad hoc assumptions, matching standard radial probability densities and energy levels. Extensions of the framework connect naturally to electromagnetism, general relativity, and cosmology. In the weak-field limit, the formalism recovers Einstein gravity, while at cosmic scales it explains redshift and time-dilation as consequences of the evolving mean amplitude of the universal breathing. The theory also generates falsifiable predictions, including subtle spectral shifts and vacuum birefringence effects testable by precision laboratory experiments (PVLAS, BMV) and astrophysical observations. The Zenodo record includes the full manuscript (PDF), LaTeX sources, and supporting Python simulations that replicate key atomic and cosmological results. Together, these materials provide a transparent, reproducible framework for independent verification and further development.
