A Three-Component Concentric Orthogonal Air-Core Coil Sensor
In this paper, to address the spatial structure constraints of existing three-component air-core coil sensors, a three-component concentric orthogonal air-core coil sensor consisting of circular coils and elliptical coil groups with equal areas is proposed. Firstly, the structural composition of the sensor is elaborated. By analyzing the mechanism through which coil electrical parameters affect spectral characteristics, the variation patterns of electrical parameters of circular coils and square coils under different deformation parameters are investigated, and the parameters of the elliptical coils are thus determined. Additionally, a comparative analysis of the performance of this sensor with that of three other coil structures is carried out. The analysis results show that the three components of CET coil after damping adjustment have similar bandwidth response, and the measurement error of the coil sensor is less than 5%, which is close to the ideal three component coil sensor. Moreover, its spatial measurement error is smaller than that of the cube coil, suggesting extensive prospects in the field of detection applications.
