D8.1 - Requirements and architecture definition (update)
This document is an evaluation and update of the previously published deliverable: “Requirements and architecture definition” [D6.1] for the SIESTA platform, at the end of the first 18 months of the SIESTA project. Along the path of building the SIESTA platform, a number of issues arose with the platform in its current state of development. The emergence of such problems or adjustments is to be expected in a project requiring the application of strict security policies, a high level of technical expertise and ambitious objectives in an evolving regulatory environment. The project’s rigorous security requirements leave no room for shortcuts in its technical implementation. Now at its midpoint, a thorough introspection is essential to identify current shortcomings and realign the trajectory toward achieving the project’s final objectives, and establish a sustainable architecture. This will ensure the continued provision and development of SIESTA services beyond the Horizon Europe funding period.
