URCM for Hydropower: Balancing Energy Flows in Modern Grids"
This work presents a possible application of the Universal Resonance Cascade Model (URCM) to hydropower and grid balancing. The approach is exploratory and does not claim to provide a finalized technology, but rather a framework that may be validated, tested, or refuted by further research. We propose to interpret compact hydropower installations and energy storage systems through the cascade-based formalism of URCM, where energy stratification, resonance layers, and flow stabilization are described in analogy with turbulent systems. This formulation allows us to consider: how artificial pressure compensation (as applied in the compact hydro-battery) may be seen as an engineered resonance layer, how cascading energy flows can be analyzed with URCM invariants, and how this might connect to grid balancing requirements in renewable integration. The document is structured with: a summary of current hydropower balancing challenges, a comparative overview of existing approaches, the URCM-based interpretation and its potential advantages, and diagrams illustrating the cascade representation. The purpose of this publication is not to assert a final solution, but to invite discussion, validation, or rejection of the framework. All calculations, assumptions, and references are based on openly available data and prior URCM works deposited on Zenodo.
