INTEGRATING AYURVEDIC KOSHTHA ASSESSMENT WITH MODERN SCI-ENCE FOR DIGESTIVE HEALTH AND SYSTEMIC WELL-BEING

The integration of Koshtha (nature of bowel) with modern scientific concepts and techniques has immense potential to enhance our understanding of digestive health and personalized medicine. Koshtha is categorized into three types based on the predominance of Dosha, which determines individual digestive and elimination patterns. While Ayurveda asserts that digestion is at the core of health, the allied modern sciences have linked gut function to systemic ailments, including the gut-brain axis, microbiome, and metabolic health. Yet, scientific validation of Koshtha from the perspective of modern gastroenterology remains lacking. This research aims to establish a framework for Koshtha evaluation using Ayurvedic parameters in conjunction with modern tools, including gut motility analysis, stool biomarkers, hormonal profiling, and multiomics. This large-scale data will then be subject to pattern analysis, which is crucial for developing predictive models that link Koshtha types to physiological and microbial profiles. This approach aims to make healthcare more personalized, preventive, and effective by combining traditional knowledge with modern science.
