Purpose: This study analyzes the strategic layout of AI in CMG's content production and broadcasting applications, examining its impact on television media's content presentation, content production, dissemination and future development direction. The study aims to understand how China’s mainstream television media deeply integrate its programs with AI and identify its current layout characteristics. Design/methodology/approach: This study comprehensively analyzes CMG's audiovisual content produced with artificial intelligence, and exploring news reports, live broadcasts of events, variety shows, documentaries, films and television programs in this regard. The study employs field surveys, literature research, and in-depth interviews to explore CMG's AI application layout, and to explore the possibility of transforming current and future television media in the context of AI. Findings: AI has significantly improved the production efficiency and artistic performance of television media, and lowered the threshold of media production and accelerated the intelligent transformation. However, there are still some limitations in the process. Practical implications: This study can provide a model for the intelligent transformation of traditional media around the world, and a methodological reference for television media to realize innovation in the AI era. Originality/value: This study systematically analyzes the layout of AI in the production of national media organizations.
