User's perception on the adoption of internet banking services: A case study of bank customers in Ibadan Metropolis, Nigeria
This study investigated the user’s perception on the Adoption of Internet Banking Services: a case study of Bank Customers in Ibadan Metropolis, Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was adopted, using a convenience sampling method, and the study was conducted across the five local government areas in the metropolis. Data were collected through a questionnaire (including an open-ended question), with 250 copies administered and 206 retrieved, resulting in an 82.4% response rate. The analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, linear regression, and multiple regression. The findings revealed that perceived usefulness had a significant relationship with Internet banking usage, while perceived ease of use did not. Most respondents were active users of Internet banking and possessed intermediate IT literacy, which influenced their usage. The study concluded that perceived usefulness is a major determinant of Internet banking adoption in the area. It is recommended that banks regularly inform users about new platform features and train staff to promptly address customer complaints to further encourage adoption among potential users.
