The Law of Catastrophic Repair: The Survival Reset Principle
This work proposes the Law of Catastrophic Repair: The Survival Reset Principle as a candidate universal law within the emerging field of reparodynamics. Unlike incremental or continuous modes of repair, catastrophic repair emphasizes deliberate resets when all other stabilizing mechanisms fail. Through simulated experiments across stochastic noise, rare shocks, and overload conditions, we demonstrate that survival resets reduce cascading collapse and extend system lifetimes by orders of magnitude. All materials in this archive — including a compact scientific paper (PDF), simulated datasets, figures, configs, and harness readmes — are provided openly for reproducibility and further exploration. By situating catastrophic repair as a candidate law of reparodynamics, this work invites the scientific community to consider reset not as failure, but as a universal principle of endurance. Offered freely to humanity, it is intended as a contribution to resilience science across biology, technology, and society.
