Wat Khao Kradonwanaram: A Sacred Site of Faith and the Baworn Power in the Community
This article highlights the significance of Wat Khao Kradonwanaram in Nong Nam Sai Subdistrict, Sikhio District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, as a vital center of Buddhist practice, morality and community empowerment through the Baworn model, integrating home–temple–school–government. With a long-standing history and royal recognition of Wisungkhamsima, the temple has continuously developed in both Buddhist art and religious activities. Key milestones include the construction of a golden teakwood ordination hall, the enshrinement of Phra Buddhasothorn and the installation of Phra Buddhaprathanaporn Sri Thep Mongkhon, symbolizing compassion and virtue. The temple also plays a central role in promoting Buddhist teachings through community training, group ordinations, and the Sunday Buddhist Study Center, supported by the Department of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Culture. Consequently, Wat Khao Kradonwanaram represents a living temple that harmonizes faith, cultural heritage, and community power for sustainable moral development.
