Addressing the Challenges of Using Artificial Intelligence in Learning Through a Project-Based Learning Approach

Advances in information technology have made the learning process much easier. This process is further enhanced by advances in artificial intelligence. On the one hand, artificial intelligence technology brings positive benefits to students. Artificial intelligence makes it easier for students to quickly find answers to existing problems without going through a long and complicated thought process. However, on the other hand, artificial intelligence can stifle students' imaginations in solving problems creatively and uniquely. Certainly, there are many solutions to overcome the impact of artificial intelligence technology on the learning process. One of them is the implementation of a project-based learning approach. The purpose of this article is first, to describe the project-based learning process at Bina Nusantara University in general courses such as Pancasila. Then, second, to describe the role of the project-based learning approach in developing students' soft skills in the areas of critical thinking, social awareness, and teamwork. The method used is analyzing project-based learning work reports submitted by students at the end of the course.
