CORRECTING EFFECTS OF GINGER POLYPHENOLIC EXTRACTS ON REPRODUCTIVE PROCESSES UNDER EXPOSURE OF MICROWAVE RADIATION
The purpose of the paper was to study the correcting effects of polyphenolic compounds (PPC) included in the extract from ginger rhizomes (Zingiber officinale) on the reproductive apparatus of white male rats in norm and under conditions of influence of millimetric microwave radiation (MWR). Wistar male rats weighing 210±10 g were taken for the experiment. Under exposure of MWR, the levels of MDA in homogenates of testicular and hypothalamic tissues increase by 38.5% and 45.7% respectively relative to the control (p<0.001). The MWR exposure on the background of introduced PPC does not cause reliable changes in the MDA level in the mentioned tissues. Under the same conditions, testosterone and LH levels exceed those in the group of animals exposed to MWR. It is observed the improvement of spermatogenesis; the functional activity of Leydig cells is restored completely. Thus, PPC contribute to the improvement of reproductive processes under the influence with MWR.
