ECOLOGICAL AND ECONOMIC ASSESSMENT OF THE EFFICIENCY OF IMPLEMENTATION OF MEASURES FOR RECULTIVATION OF TECHNOGENICALLY SALINE SOILS
The article considers the problem of remediation of soils contaminated with mineralized waters in the middle taiga of Western Siberia. The study is aimed at assessing the economic efficiency of technologies for restoring disturbed lands. The object of the study was a 0.6 ha mineralized liquid spill site in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. The soils of the site are classified as technogenically saline chemozems (Solonchaks Gleyic Toxic). The developed remediation method includes a three-stage set of measures: preparatory, technical and biological. Economic efficiency was assessed using the discounted cash flow (DCF) method with a comparison of remediation costs and potential environmental damage calculated using the methodology of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia. The results showed that the total cost of a 15-year remediation cycle is significantly lower than possible payments for environmental damage.
