Time‑Structured Media: Optical Temporal Transfer & Behavioral Readout — Israel Field Protocols and Negev Bench Baselines (v2.4)
We present a conservative, preregistered framework to quantify temporal transfer in complex aero-bio-dust media and to test day-to-day behavioral associations. Using time-of-flight optics, we estimate a temporal transfer kernel h(τ)h(\tau)h(τ) from arrival-time distributions P(τ)P(\tau)P(τ) and derive three optical indices: (i) TOF broadening BBB (FWHM/SD ratio vs. reference), (ii) tail exponent μ\muμ (MLE on survival tails), and (iii) chromaticity CCC across wavelengths. In parallel, human Temporal Bisection / Duration Production tasks yield a TPI (PSE, slope, relative bias, CV), accompanied by a pupil/blink composite as an attentional proxy. A preregistered mixed model relates Δ\DeltaΔTPI to Δ\DeltaΔTII with environmental covariates (illumination, PM2.5_{2.5}2.5, temperature, humidity); two-sided tests with cluster-robust SEs and AR(1) checks are used. Bench baselines through Negev hypoliths/endoliths/biocrusts provide raw h(τ)h(\tau)h(τ) and chromatic signatures; an insect pilot probes mechanistic hypotheses without human inference. We make no causal or substance claims; associations and null outcomes are acceptable. All protocols, data schemas, and analysis code are prepared for open release to enable replication across seasons and sites.
