Yeshua as the Yes/No Word and the Arithmos Calculus - From Numbers to Revelation, a Human- and Machine-Readable Framework

This paper explores the intertextual relationship between the Book of Numbers (LXX Arithmoi, “Countings”) and the Book of Revelation, arguing that Revelation functions as an eschatological census. By tracing the lexical and etymological spine—from Hebrew ספר (s-p-r, “to count/write/recount”) to Greek ἀριθμός (arithmos, “number”), σφραγίς (seal), χάραγμα (mark), ψηφίζω (calculate), and into Latin numerus—the study demonstrates that counting in Scripture always signifies covenantal identity, not abstract arithmetic. Numbers’ census, camp geometry, sevens, twelves, forty-year trial, and rebellion at chapter 13 are structurally re-inscribed in Revelation as sealing, cosmic fours, liturgical sevens, 144,000, 42 months, and the rebellion of chapter 13. At the center stands Yeshua (יֵשׁוּעַ, “YHWH saves”), the Word made flesh (John 1:14), whose Yes/No ethic (“let your Yes be Yes, and your No, No,” Matt 5:37) stabilizes the arithmos of allegiance: Lamb’s seal or Beast’s mark (Rev 7; Rev 13). The paper also proposes an “Arithmos Calculus”—a minimal operator grammar for aligning human and machine interpretation, designed to reduce hallucination and preserve semantic fidelity by binding lexical tokens to canonical narrative structures.
