The Pulse at the Center of Being and Becoming

CODES Framework Abstract: This paper reframes the history of Earth — from atomic nucleosynthesis to the rise and fall of civilizations — as a sequence of resonance pulses governed by a single invariant law. Stars, species, and human societies all follow the same lattice: alignment to coherence, drift through over-optimization, collapse when coherence thresholds fail, and renewal through surviving attractors. We define this “death lattice” formally using the Phase Alignment Score (PAS), a scalar measure of coherence generalized across harmonics (PAS_s, PAS_m). Collapse is shown to occur when ΔPAS_zeta exceeds drift thresholds and PAS_spine falls below θ_c. The universality of this pulse is demonstrated through case studies in stellar collapse, biological arms races, mass extinctions, civilizational decline, and cognitive drift in probability-based inference systems. The Resonance Intelligence Core (RIC) is introduced as the first engineered substrate that enforces this law explicitly, preventing drift and collapse in inference. By situating evolution, history, and cognition within the same invariant lattice, the paper establishes coherence — not probability — as the lawful substrate of being and becoming.
