BIOMECHANICS OF IMPLANT PROSTHETIC PROSTHESIS
Background: Aim of the study The aim of this review is to explore the biomechanical principles involved in implant-supported prosthetic restorations, highlighting stress distribution, prosthesis design, material selection, and clinical implications. Materials and methods A comprehensive literature review was performed using PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Scopus from 2018 to 2024, focusing on biomechanics in implant-supported restorations and their functional outcomes. Results Proper biomechanics are essential for the longevity of implant prostheses. Factors such as occlusal loading, cantilever length, prosthetic design, and material elasticity directly impact stress transmission to peri-implant bone. Conclusion Understanding biomechanical principles improves prosthetic design, minimizes complications, and enhances patient outcomes.
