Analysis of Simulation Optimization for High-Speed Digital Interface Topology
Signal integrity in communication systems is becoming increasingly severe with the widespread adoption of buses with high-speed digital interfaces, since this issue potentially leads to sporadic stalls or crashes in the systems. This paper aims to enhance design margins in signal integrity. Network products of a specific model were used to conduct a comprehensive reliability assessment through pre-design and post-design simulations. In the pre-design simulation stage, the interconnecting structure of their DDR3 memories was analyzed to compare the advantages and disadvantages of various topological structures. In the post-design simulation stage, the products were evaluated in terms of signal quality of their high-speed buses, and optimization was made on the termination scheme, leveraging a T-topology method. Simulation results showed that the adoption of the optimization solution led to significantly improved signal quality, with a more than 40% reduction in edge time and a 5.4% enhancement in the optimized version of the eye width, thereby ensuring the stability and reliability of communication products used in rail transit network systems.
