A Computational Framework for Thought Engineering: PREN Scoring and FBM Intervention for Cognitive and Behavioral Insights
This paper formalizes two core modules in Thought Engineering: the PREN model for scoring the structural impact of questions and stimuli, and the FBM (Frame Break Method) for structural intervention. Factor scores, an overall PREN index, explicit intervention conditions, and an effect metric are defined, with visualizations enabling otherwise invisible cognitive structures to become inspectable. The framework is positioned within psychological research on cognitive framing, metacognition, and behavioral change, providing structured methods to facilitate self-reflection and adaptive decision-making. The scope is restricted to PREN and FBM, leaving other modules (e.g., EME, RQU, PRM) for future integration.
