FortiChat: An Intelligent Secure Messaging Platform with MITM Attack Prevention and Machine Learning-based Intrusion Detection

FortiChat presents itself as a messaging application that secures messages against Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) interception attempts. Science-based cryptographic protocols and future-proofed methods such as RSA along with AES encryption and SHA-256 hashing work together with ECDSA signatures to provide FortiChat with its capabilities. The implemented security protocols protect communication by ensuring complete secrecy while maintaining the status of data and authenticating all information. The system features Random Forest algorithms in its Intrusion Detection System (ML-IDS) to analyze behavior patterns and stop security threats during real-time usage. The wide range of data FortiChat handles proves its effectiveness to stop Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS), Denial of Service (DoS) and port scanning attacks. The platform has an interface that uses enhanced security protocols to safeguard all network-based communication while maintaining simplicity for users. The paper details FortiChat's system design while providing complete implementation information and experimental evidence which shows how it achieves better security defenses and dependable messaging protection compared to existing platforms.
