Textile-Based Dual Band Dual Polarized Reflective Metasurface for WBAN Applications
Textile-based Dual Band Dual Polarized reflective Metasurface for WBAN Applications is presented in this paper. It covers two metallic structures with L-shaped slots of different sizes; it is a two-dimensional dual-layer structure with a compact size of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$0.2 \lambda_{0} \times 0.2 \lambda_{0} \times 0.02 \lambda_{0} ~\text{mm}^{3}$</tex> using jeans with 0.7 mm thickness. It achieves right-hand circular polarization (RHCP) and left-hand circular polarization (LHCP) 3-dB ARBW from 3.34 to 4.4 GHz (31.3 %) at the lower band and 6.22 to 8 GHz (25.4 %) at the upper band for <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$y$</tex>-polarized incidence. Furthermore, the axial ratio between 3.34 and 4.4 GHz and 6.22 and 8 GHz stays below 0.86 dB, showing strong CP conversion efficiency. Therefore, the suggested dual band dual polarized reflected textile converter is most appropriate for WBAN applications.
