Considerations and Decision-making in Clinical Intervention Plans for Bilateral Pulmonary Nodules
The detection rate of bilateral lung nodules is on a continuous rise, and their clinical diagnosis and management pose greater challenges compared to solitary pulmonary nodules. This study aims to explore the considerations and difficult decisions faced by clinicians when both nodules are suspected to be malignant. These challenges include the interference of diagnostic uncertainty on clinical decision-making, the prioritization of the primary or secondary lesion for initial treatment, the option of simultaneous bilateral surgery, patient compliance, and the selection of individualized treatment plans. By analyzing current research and clinical practice, this study elaborates on the advantages and disadvantages of different strategies and proposes new methods and ideas for diagnostic risk assessment, thereby providing a reference for clinical practice.
