The Effect of Workplace Environment on Employees Performance in the case of Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, Chiro city

The main objective of this study is to investigate the effect of workplace environment on employees’ performance of Commercial Bank Ethiopia at Grade 1 and Grade 3 Branches in Chiro city. For this purpose, a quantitative research approach with a descriptive and explanatory research design was used. The study's target population consisted of 218 employees from five Chiro City branches, and 141 of them drowned. Cross-sectional data was collected to address the research objectives of the study using a questionnaire from employees using a stratified and simple random sampling approach. The data was collected and analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS version 25) tool. Likert’s 5 point rating scale was used to rate each item in the data collection instrument. Descriptive statistics was used as a measure of central tendencies and measures of dispersion (mean and standard deviation). The researcher also used correlation and multiple regressions for showing the effect of workplace environment on employees’ performance. Correlation analysis indicates that, there are positive relationship workplace environment variables with employees’ performance. On the other hand multiple regressions shows that there were good positive impact on employees’ performance from the workplace environment variables (physical work environment, reward, work-life balance, and training).
