Resistance-Adaptive Sensorless Control Scheme for IPMSM with Integrated Temperature Estimation
Accurate position and speed estimation in high-speed sensorless drives of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs) relies heavily on precise motor parameters, such as stator resistance and inductance. However, stator resistance exhibits significant variation with temperature, leading to rotor position estimation errors and degraded control performance. Moreover, real-time temperature monitoring is crucial to prevent insulation breakdown and irreversible magnet demagnetization. To address these interconnected issues, this paper proposes a resistance-variation-resilient flux observer (RVRFO) with integrated online temperature estimation. The RVRFO dynamically compensates for stator resistance drift using real-time temperature estimates derived from the magnet flux linkage. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in enhancing both control accuracy and thermal reliability under dynamic operating conditions.
