Research on Transmissive Metasurfaces with Nonreciprocal Characteristics

This study addresses the increasing concerns about interference and eavesdropping in wireless communication systems due to the rapid rise in the number of communication terminals. To mitigate these issues, a non-reciprocal metasurface utilizing polarization conversion characteristics is proposed. The metasurface consists of two layers: the first layer performs polarization conversion, while the second layer reflects polarization. The combination of these layers results in the realization of non-reciprocal properties. The effectiveness of the proposed structure is confirmed.

Abstract

This study addresses the increasing concerns about interference and eavesdropping in wireless communication systems due to the rapid rise in the number of communication terminals. To mitigate these issues, a non-reciprocal metasurface utilizing polarization conversion characteristics is proposed. The metasurface consists of two layers: the first layer performs polarization conversion, while the second layer reflects polarization. The combination of these layers results in the realization of non-reciprocal properties. The effectiveness of the proposed structure is confirmed.
