Developing an Internet of Things (IoT) Driven Alert System for Detecting and Mitigating Rash Driving Incidents

The increase in traffic accidents caused by reckless driving, intoxicated driving, and poor driving habits has recently become a major global security concern. This concept proposes an Internet of Things (IoT)-powered alarm system that monitors key markers of careless driving, such as the driver's breathing alcohol content, the distance from obstacles, speed limit laws, and accident rates. The method makes use of several sensors, such as a MEMS sensor to gauge crash damage, an ultrasonic sensor to avoid obstacles, a gas sensor to detect alcohol levels, and an RFID module to identify speed zones. When the gas sensor detects alcohol consumption above a predetermined level, it sounds a warning to prevent reckless driving. The ultrasonic sensor keeps a sufficient distance from obstacles, and the RFID module alerts the driver to adjust speed in accordance with the specified speed zone. If the MEMS sensor detects an unanticipated effect, which it interprets as a potential accident, the system updates the position on a webpage for prompt action. This technology reduces accident rates and promotes safer driving habits by providing real-time communication and monitoring.
