Advancing circular-economy in food processing: Integrating waste management, policy support, and supply chain circularity

The contemporary terrain of the food industry, illustrated by its vibrant amalgamation of conventional agricultural approaches and burgeoning technical refinements, is noticing a rapid changeover operated by locomoting customer selections, developing regulatory frameworks, enriching supply chain infrastructure, and expanding digital scaffolds, thereby setting itself at the convergence of development possibilities and sustainability challenges within a rapidly globalizing thrift. The present research is conducted with the objective of comparing the impact of waste management efficiency, regulations and policy, supporting supply chain circularity, and adoption of circular business models on sustainable business performance of the food industry. To meet the research objective, a conceptual framework was developed based on underlying theories and a review of the literature.
