Application of Channel Emulator for Testing LOW-ORBIT Satellite Communication System
This paper describes the application of a channel emulator for testing low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communication systems. A channel emulator is a device that enables the modeling of key propagation environment parameters-such as signal delay, Doppler shift, and attenuation-under laboratory conditions, significantly reducing the cost of testing satellite communication systems. Special attention is given to the issue of parameter update discreteness within the emulator, which can distort test results and compromise the accuracy of the evaluation. The paper presents an analysis of the impact of this effect on test reliability and proposes a solution based on the use of linear interpolation within the emulator to mitigate modeling errors. Additionally, a mathematical model of a LEO satellite communication system with a static user terminal is provided.
