Finite-Step Consensus-based Distributed Economic Dispatch of Microgrid

The distributed economic dispatch of microgrids is the foundation for building smarter and more sustainable power systems in the future. In order to improve the convergence speed of optimal power allocation for power generation units in microgrids, a finite-step consensus based algorithm was designed. This paper models the economic dispatch problem of microgrids in the form of a quadratic function, and iteratively calculates the consumption increment rate of generator units through a finite step consensus algorithm. Then, by updating the rules, gradually find the optimal rate of slight increase in consumption. Theoretical evidence has shown that the proposed method can converge within a finite number of steps. In addition, the simulation results have verified the feasibility of the proposed method.
