Active Damping Strategies for Oscillation Mitigation in Compressor Overmodulation
Resonance-induced oscillations in motor drive systems, especially in drive control operating in the over-modulation region, lead to system instability and increased current harmonics. In this paper, a resonance suppression control algorithm based on active damping control is proposed. By introducing a virtual resistor in the d-axis current feedback to compensate the voltage phase angle, the current resonance peak can be effectively reduced. In the air-conditioning compressor test, the results validate the method, proving that the motor in the over-modulated operating state using the scheme in this paper significantly suppresses voltage oscillations and reduces circuit harmonics, and the method based on active damping control provides a stable and low-cost solution for improving the reliability and stability of air-conditioning compressor motors in high-speed operation.
