Development of dynamic mathematical model of sulfide concentrate roasting process

In this article, based on heat balance equations taking into account heat exchange, heat capacity, thermal losses, and the inertial properties of the system, a dynamic mathematical model of the sulfide concentrate beneficiation process through roasting a key stage in metallurgical processing has been developed. The proposed model describes the temperature dynamics in the roasting furnace through a second-order differential equation. As a result of analytical and numerical studies, a heat balance equation was derived and transformed into a transfer function that characterizes the dynamic behavior of the system. This function was validated for equivalence using the Fisher criterion, and its stability was analyzed via computer simulation in the MATLAB environment. The resulting transient response graphs visualize the main system parameters, such as response time, stability, and the presence of oscillatory modes. The proposed model can be used for automation and intelligent control of the roasting process under industrial conditions, as well as for optimizing energy consumption and reducing atmospheric emissions.
