Speed Control of Hydro-turbine Governor System Based on Active Disturbance Rejection Control

This paper proposes a speed control method for the hydro-turbine governor system based on Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC) to address issues such as unstable water flow and load disturbances, ensuring stable power system operation. The core parameters of the hydro-turbine governor system are precisely extracted to construct a real-time virtual model that accurately reflects the dynamic characteristics of the physical system. ADRC is used to optimize the governor control parameters. An Improved Dung Beetle Optimization (IDBO) further enhances the accuracy of model-parameter matching, achieving precise control of the target speed. Experimental results show that the average error between the virtual and actual speeds is less than 0.02, demonstrating accurate simulation of the physical system behavior. The ADRC method provides superior stability, effectively resisting external disturbances. The Improved Dung Beetle Optimization Algorithm solves issues caused by model imperfections and uncertain parameters, significantly improving the system stability and robustness.
