A Novel Design and Implementation of a Modular, Compact, Intelligent, and Universal Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) System

This paper presents a novel design and implementation for a modular, compact, intelligent, and universal Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) system, which addresses the current limitations of low flexibility, and limited intelligence in existing UUVs. By employing a highly modular design with separate control and propulsion compartments, this system enhances adaptability and scalability for diverse underwater missions. The architecture integrates advanced computing units, multi-sensor fusion, independent thruster control, and a dynamic computational power extension mechanism, ensuring robust and efficient operation for autonomous navigation and complex underwater tasks. The proposed UUV system also supports both Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle (ROV) and Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) modes, offering a universal solution for research, educational purposes, and applications like pre-deployment functional verification.
